VW Thing: Black Pen Drawing

This artwork depicts a classic Volkswagen Thing with the top down, rendered entirely in black ink. The vehicle's distinct utilitarian, boxy shape is constructed using a dense network of continuous, overlapping lines. Heavy, concentrated ink layering creates deep shadows within the wheel wells, across the tires, the folded roof, and the shadow cast directly beneath the car. In contrast, the flat body panels and hood are formed with looser, more dispersed scribbling, allowing the stark white of the page to show through for natural highlights. This purely line-based technique sharply defines the car's corrugated side panels, round headlights, and open-air cabin against the blank background.
